Matt Druid "Tribalize" (Hard Techno/Trance)
Booking Info: 312.409.9089

Druid is very well respected here in the Chicago area. He has got what it takes to make you dance hardcore every minute of his set. Flawless mixing and original tracks on this tape. "Tribalize" makes me almost cry because it is so beautiful, like all of Druid's stuff. Don't miss some of his other tapes "Trancelvania" and "Mystic Propaganda". Druid is among my favorite DJ's of all time. Much love Matt! ...keeping it real in Chicago.

DJ DRUID - Mystic Propaganda (House/Chicago, IL)

The minimal tinkering bells of Sonar Audio Research's "Power Up" combined with a gradually building background of beats begin this journey through the depths of house. There's an immense amount of intensity hidden below the surface of this subdued mission to move your soul. Gradually it pulls you up into a dancing position with the irresistible magnetism created by a DJ who knows how to build up the groove. Contact: 312.409.9089

MATT DRUID  Mystic Propaganda (Chicago)

Wicked hard warehouse techno! It begins with what sounds like the theme to the movie Risky Business (Echtzeit "8:30am"), and then begins the booming and tweakin. Speakin' of tweakin', Druid does it well; he drops the right frequencies at the right times. You gotta love life when a techno dj can work the EQ well. There's a Misjah track, Drew Young, Thomas Heckmann, and a Jeff Mills track- if that gives you an idea of the flavor. It's NOT minimal techno at all. The mixing is tight. This is one badass tape! TRANCELVANIA - DJ Druid

When a tape comes packaged with an evil and sinister zombie grinning on the cover, and the tape itself is blood red, you know the DJ is quite serious about what you're about to hear. One of Chicago's most promising up-and-comming jocks, Druid returns with his sophomore effort in only a few months. He wants to be heard, and he's going about promoting himself in a positive way, with of course his own little twist to it. Side A is more on the down-tempo side of Trance, sounding a bit dark at times. Good tracks here by Transva/Van Oberbeek, and the stirring "Vampire State Building" by Kayln. Thanks a bunch for the very informative J-Card complete with playlist, info lines, website, etc. Side B is where this hometown trance prodigy goes completely off and tears shit up. His mixing is top notch, with E.Q. meltdowns and plenty of crossfader action, totally tweaking his tracks. This kid's got skillz and he uses them to his full potential on offerings from CJ Bolland, Mike Dearborn, and the Advent's wicked remix of New Order. Just when you catch your breath after such an intense and banging mix, your only possible next move is to rewind the tape and play it again. For Bookings: 312-409-9089

Acidic Assault Phase 2.1 - DJ Druid

When you play this tape you will be hit with a sound that doesn't receive much attention here in Chicago - Acid and Trance. This is a mix tape by an up-and-coming guy with a strong techno sound that deserves to be heard. The first side simply kicks with tracks that vibrate with bass heavy rhythms, so a word to the wise - Turn it up! The second side slows the pace down to some funky techno that reaches more into the spacier realm of trance. You hear energetic female vocals, guitar, and buildups. Check out the brilliant remixes by Dave Clark and DJ Misjah. This package comes with a useful track listing and original cover art. Pick it up and experience new talent. Call 312.409.9089 for bookings.

Druid - Acidic Assault Phase 2.1

You can read about this character on page 22...he's from Chicago, and the tape is some what acid/trance/vocally/progressive house. Pretty good variety, and it'll get you movin. He's out and about quite often so check him out if you haven't.

Article in MASSIVE Magazine - Issue 16

Also from Chicago and worth a mention is DJ Druid (312.409.9089), whose 'Acidic Assault' tape is chock full of harder Acid Trance and straight up 303 madness. Solid mixing throughout.
